What is an eProf?
An eProf is an educator who wants to leverage the web to teach. eProfs can be anyone - professors, tutors, instructors, or any subject-matter expert who wants to expand their reach by conducting classes online. An eProf is someone who sees the value in live teaching and wants to leverage the eProf platform to connect with students and earn income.

How can I become an eProf?

As an eProf, can I take classes as well?
Of course! We encourage our users to get involved as much as possible. If you create an eProf account, you can both teach classes and sign up for classes as a student.

What is the pricing model for eProf.com?
For individual educators, eProf.com has zero signup fees and simply takes 20% commission on revenue generated from classes & courses. Pricing is different for eProf business clients - click here to learn more.

How much do classes & courses cost on eProf.com?
We let our eProfs set the price per student for each class, so prices will vary depending on the eProf and subject matter.

If I teach a paid class, when do I receive my class revenues?
We send your class revenue to you as soon as your class is successfully completed. Payments are sent via PayPal. To set up a PayPal account, visit Paypal.com.

If I pay for a class and the eProf doesn't show up, what happens?
Send us an email (support@eprof.com) with the title of the class and the name of the eProf who didn't show. We will refund your money right away, no questions asked.

What is the Virtual Classroom?
The Virtual Classroom is an advanced, real-time teaching venue. This is where eProfs conduct class. Our Virtual Classroom has dynamic functionality like screensharing, video streaming, whiteboarding and document sharing.

What is the Hallway?
The Hallway is where you meet up with your classmates before and after each class. The Hallway has a real-time discussion board that students and eProfs use to chat and collaborate. eProfs often send out important links and downloadable files on this page as well.

How big are class sessions on eProf?
Our Virtual Classroom allows eProfs to teach up to 24 students at a time. When building classes and courses, eProfs set the maximum number of students that can register (1 to 24).

What is the difference between a class and a course?
Classes are one-time, non-recurring live sessions. A course is a series of progressive classes. For example, Introduction to Photoshop is a class, whereas Photoshop: From Beginner to Advanced is a course.

Why can’t I see my private class under upcoming classes?
The Upcoming Classes section shows only Public classes available to all. For Private Classes you must send the class URL directly to your students.

How can I upload course materials for my students to download for an upcoming class?
While you are creating a class you have the option to upload course materials for students to download. These files can viewed under the ‘Downloads’ tab on your upcoming class page.

How do I upload files in the virtual classroom?
On the control panel on the right side of the virtual classroom, click on the folder button with the plus (+) sign on it, then click Browse and select the file you want to upload.

How do I share my screen during a class?
On the top right corner of the virtual classroom you will see an icon with the two monitors on it - simply click that icon to start sharing your screen.

Do I have to download anything in order to run my class?
There are no downloads required if your computer's software is up to date. To check if you are up to date, perform an eProf System Check.

How do I market my class?

How do I recreate a previously held class with the same info?
Simply go to your dashboard and click on ‘Quick Schedule’ and select from any previously made classes.

When I try to enter the classroom, a security issue pops up - how can I fix this? (Windows only)
In the address bar, you should a be able to locate a shield icon, click on that icon and choose the option ‘Load Anyway’. This should refresh your page and load the classroom.

How do I create a course on eProf?
Go to your Dashboard, click on the button ‘Create a Course’ and follow the instructions.

How do I block students from my class that are not behaving properly?
You can remove a student from your classroom by clicking the red X beside their name in the class control panel. If you have a problem student that you would like to report, please contact us here.

What are the best times for me to schedule my classes?
Evenings and weekends are usually better for availability. You’ll have to decide based on the students that you’re trying to attract.

What do I do if a student didn’t show up for my class, even though they registered for it?
The onus is on the student to show up on time for a registered class - if they decide not to show up, the eProf still gets paid.

Should I mute all my students during a class, so that no one is able to disrupt me?
We give our eProfs full control over their classroom, so they are free to configure the classroom however they see fit. A good technique is to have all students muted and unmute them once you open the floor up for discussion.

I am a tutor. What will I get if I join eProf?
eProf allows you expand your tutoring services on an international level, all while sitting in the comfort of your home. If you have an existing business, we help you save money and time from traveling to and from your student’s locations and we remove the friction of you having to request and collect payments. In short, we handle the logistics so you can focus on teaching.

Why can’t I become an eProf without uploading a picture?
Our eProfs need to upload a picture because it allows the students to see who they will be learning from.

How can I use eProf for my tutoring company?

What happens if I go over the time limit I set for a class?
The time limit is set in order to give the students an approximation of how long the class will be, but if necessary you are allowed to go over the time limit.

Can I change/edit date and time of class sometime later after scheduling?
Yes, of course. Just click Edit on the class page and pick a new date and time. Make sure to let your students know of the time change!

How do I cancel a class?
Go to Upcoming Classes > click on your class > Click the icon ‘X’ to delete your class.

How many classes can I schedule on eProf?
eProfs are allowed to schedule as many classes as they’re able to teach.

What is the maximum duration for a class?
In theory, we allow the maximum duration to be 4 hours but if necessary you are allowed to go over the time limit.

How do I sign up for a class?
You must create a student account, click on an upcoming class and click on the big green "Register" button.

How do I download files for an upcoming class?
Go to the page of your upcoming class and click on the Downloads tab.

How do I get more information about an eProf?
Go to the ‘eProf Roster’ and click on any eProf’s profile to find out more about them.

Can I ask a question to the eProf before a class starts?
If you have registered for a class, you are allowed to post on the class discussion board at any time.

How do I contact an eProf?
To contact an individual, simply go to the ‘eProf Roster’, click on the eProf’s profile and click on ‘Send a message’ to contact them.

What is AutoJoin?
AutoJoin automatically loads the classroom on the student’s browser 10 minutes before the class actually starts.

An eProf cancelled a class that I signed up for - how do I get my money back?
If an eProf cancels their class, all students receive a refund in 1-2 business days.

How can I use eProf for my education business?
eProf for businesses was designed to give you all the benefits of the eProf platform but in a way that is exclusive for your students and teachers. For our business clients, we built a seperate eProf-powered site under a subdomain (YourCompany.eprof.com) and add your branding, colours, and logos. Essentially, eProf for business helps you launch a virtual academy at minimal cost.

Can I integrate my eProf business account into my current website?
Currently your eProf subdomain acts like your own website with our e-learning infrastructure. Through the subdomain you can host online classes and add instructors without needing to change your existing website. In special cases, we can do custom domain routing so that your eProf subdomain redirects to a domain of your choice.

How does the billing work for eProf business accounts?
eProf business clients are billed monthly at a base rate of $50 per instructor per month. Each instructor is given access to eProf’s full suite of teaching tools.

Are there any transaction fees?
Yes, transactions run through your eProf business account are subject to a 5% processing fee.

Is there a limit to the number of classes I can run on my subdomain?
No, once your business account is activated you are free to run paid or free classes as often as you’d like.

If I am the administrator of my subdomain, how do I add instructors?
Once signed in on your subdomain as an Admin, go to your Dashboard and click the ‘Add Instructor’ button.

How do I delete an instructor?
Once signed in your subdomain as an admin, go to your ‘Dashboard’ and find the instructor’s name under the instructors list. Click the delete button next to the instructor’s name to remove them from your roster.

How do I edit my company info?
Once logged in on your subdomain as an admin, simply click the ‘Edit Account’ button on your Company Profile.

How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your eProf business account at anytime - just send us an email at support@eprof.com.
